Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: Māsopavāsa (month-long fast)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It elevates māsopavāsa (a month-long fast) as a purifying tapas suited to those established in restraint—showing that austerity becomes spiritually potent when supported by detachment and disciplined life-stages.
While not naming a deity directly, the verse frames fasting as a supportive vow that steadies the senses; such steadiness is traditionally used to intensify japa, remembrance, and worship—core supports of bhakti practice.
Ritual discipline and vrata-prayoga (the practical conduct of vows) is implied—especially the regulated observance of upavāsa across a defined time period (one month), a key component of dharmic procedure rather than a technical Vedanga like Vyākaraṇa.
