Narada Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 11

Dhvaja-Dhāraṇa Mahātmyam: Sumati–Satyamatī, Humility, and Deliverance by Hari’s Messengers

FAQs

It portrays ideal Vaiṣṇava character—truth-centered mind (satyamati), inner and outer purity (śuci), and joyful residence in Viṣṇu’s abode—showing that devotion ripens into contentment and gentle, uplifting conduct.

Bhakti is shown as lived worship: staying near Viṣṇu (viṣṇu-gṛha), maintaining purity and virtue (satī, śuci), and offering one’s talents—like sacred dance and sweet speech—as pleasing service (seva) born from deep satisfaction in the Lord.

The verse implicitly emphasizes śauca (ritual and ethical cleanliness) as a practical discipline connected with Kalpa (ritual practice) and right conduct in temple worship, even though no technical Vedāṅga procedure is explicitly detailed.
