FAQs

It links dharmic practice to right timing: the Moon (Chandra) is used to derive auspicious kalās, supporting disciplined ritual life that steadies the mind and aids progress toward Moksha.

While not directly praising Bhakti, it supports Bhakti-oriented observances by indicating how to choose favorable times; well-timed vows and worship help maintain steadiness (niyama) in devotion.

Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa (astronomical/astrological time-reckoning): a rule-of-thumb for muhūrta/kalā determination based on the Moon and the natal degree/portion (janma-bhāga), using a doubling operation (dvi-ghna).
