“(Melebihi kiraan terdahulu) seterusnya datang: prayuta; kemudian yang disebut koṭi; kemudian arbuda; kemudian abja; kemudian rarvavaka; kemudian niravarva; kemudian mahāpadma; kemudian śaṅku; dan kemudian jaladhi (lautan)—itulah nama-nama berturutan bagi bilangan yang kian besar.”
Narada (in doctrinal instruction within Moksha-dharma context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
By naming successive vast number-units, the verse emphasizes disciplined knowledge (jnana) and the Purāṇic habit of precise enumeration—training the mind to grasp scale, order, and scriptural exactness, which supports clarity in dharma and moksha-oriented study.
This verse is not a direct bhakti instruction; it supports bhakti indirectly by grounding the listener in accurate śāstric knowledge and traditional terminology, which strengthens faithful engagement with Purāṇic teachings and recitations.
It highlights technical numeration and list-based instruction used across śāstra—useful for precise reading of Purāṇic cosmology, ritual counts, and traditional calculations (often adjacent to jyotiṣa-style quantification, even when not explicitly astrological here).
