The Narration of the Brāhma Purāṇa’s Account

Brāhma Purāṇānukramaṇikā

मरीच्यादिऋषिभ्यस्तु पुत्रस्नेहावृतात्मना । एकदा ब्रह्मणः पुत्रो मरीचिर्नाम विश्रुतः ॥ १६ ॥

marīcyādiṛṣibhyastu putrasnehāvṛtātmanā | ekadā brahmaṇaḥ putro marīcirnāma viśrutaḥ || 16 ||

Namun di antara para resi bermula dengan Marīci, pada suatu ketika Marīci yang masyhur—putera Brahmā—dengan jiwanya terselubung oleh kasih sayang terhadap anaknya (bertindak/berkata dalam keadaan demikian).
