FAQs

It frames a vrata act: fasting and making an offering at night on a specified tithi, directing the devotee to Śiva as the embodiment of auspiciousness—showing that disciplined observance (upavāsa + timely worship) is a means to invoke śiva (auspicious welfare).

Bhakti is expressed through concrete devotional discipline—keeping upavāsa, honoring sacred time (Caturdaśī, nightfall), and dedicating the act to the deity with the understanding that the deity is śiva-rūpa (the very nature of auspiciousness).

Kalpa-style ritual timing is emphasized: tithi observance (Caturdaśī), the night junction (niśāgama), and the linkage of fasting with offering—core practical ritual procedure rather than grammar or phonetics.
