Narada
Vrata: Akhaṇḍa-vrata (contextual continuation)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It emphasizes sustained discipline (naktāśī) and sense-restraint (jitendriya) as the foundation for a successful year-long observance, culminating in properly performed worship (vidhānataḥ) of the chosen deity-image.
Bhakti here is shown as steady practice over time: regulated living for twelve months, followed by reverent, rule-based arcana of the mūrti—devotion expressed through consistency, purity, and correct ritual attention.
Ritual procedure and correct performance—aligned with Kalpa (ritual injunctions) and basic vrata-niyamas—are highlighted by the insistence on worshiping “vidhānataḥ,” i.e., according to prescribed rules.
