The Account of the Ekādaśī Vow Observed Throughout the Twelve Months
वैकुंठं सम्यगभ्यर्व्य सर्वैरेवोपचारकैः । द्विजान्संभोज्य विसृजेद्दत्वा तेभ्यश्च दक्षिणाम् ॥ ६९ ॥
vaikuṃṭhaṃ samyagabhyarvya sarvairevopacārakaiḥ | dvijānsaṃbhojya visṛjeddatvā tebhyaśca dakṣiṇām || 69 ||
Setelah menyembah Vaikuṇṭha (Tuhan Viṣṇu) dengan sempurna melalui segala persembahan dan khidmat yang ditetapkan, hendaklah seseorang menjamu para dwija (brāhmaṇa), lalu menghantar mereka pulang dengan hormat, sesudah memberikan dakṣiṇā (honorarium).
Narada
Vrata: Ekādaśī-related vrata context (concluding worship/charity sequence)
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that devotion is completed not only by worship of Viṣṇu, but by dharmic closure—hospitality, gratitude, and generosity through feeding learned dvijas and giving dakṣiṇā.
Bhakti here is practical and reverential: worship with upacāras, then extend that sacredness into social dharma by honoring Viṣṇu’s devotees/representatives through anna-dāna and gifts.
It reflects Kalpa (ritual procedure): the correct completion of a worship sequence—upacāra-pūjā, brāhmaṇa-bhojana, dakṣiṇā, and formal visarjana as concluding acts.
