Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It presents fasting (upavāsa) combined with purification-bathing in sacred, clean waters—especially with sesame—as a powerful expiatory act (prāyaścitta) said to erase sins spanning multiple births.
While framed as a purification rite, such vratas and tīrtha-snana typically support bhakti by cleansing impediments (pāpa) that obstruct steady worship and remembrance of the Divine.
It highlights ritual procedure (kalpa-oriented practice): upavāsa and snāna with prescribed substances (tila) in appropriate sacred waters—an applied dharma/vrata instruction rather than grammar or astrology.
