The exposition of the Pañcamī vow to be observed in the twelve months
Sanatkumara (addressing Narada)
Vrata: Vāyu worship on Āṣāḍha pañcamī (vrata name not explicitly given)
Primary Rasa: shanta (peace)
Secondary Rasa: bhakti (devotion)
It links dāna expressed as vipra-bhojana (feeding brāhmaṇas) with sarva-kāma-phala (fulfilment of aims), and then prescribes a specific tithi-based observance—Āṣāḍha pañcamī—focused on honoring Vāyu as a pervasive divine principle.
Bhakti is shown in practical form: serving the Lord’s representatives through respectful feeding and performing a calendar-based worship (upāsanā) of Vāyu, cultivating reverence for the divine presence that pervades all beings.
It relies on Vedic calendrics (Jyotiṣa Vedāṅga) through the use of a specific lunar month (Āṣāḍha) and tithi (pañcamī) to time a prescribed ritual action.
