It functions as an anukramaṇikā (table-of-contents style recap), emphasizing that dharmic practices—especially parva observances and dāna like go-dāna—are integral topics already established in the earlier section.
Indirectly: by listing parva observances and sacred narratives, it points to structured religious life—festival days, vows, and charitable acts—which in the Purāṇic framework are commonly performed as expressions of devotion and reverence.
The verse is primarily a textual summary rather than a Vedāṅga lesson; its practical takeaway is ritual-dharma orientation—timely parva observance and prescribed dāna (go-dāna)—rather than grammar, metrics, or astrology.
