The asuric response to the unknown is anger and aggression, not inquiry and discernment. The verse critiques krodha as the reflex that propels beings into self-destruction.
It belongs to narrative carita (episode of divine intervention), not to cosmological enumeration. Such episodes function as dharma-illustrations within the Purāṇic corpus.
‘Rushing toward the sound’ symbolizes consciousness chasing external stimuli; when driven by anger, it moves toward bondage. The ‘sound’ can be read as the call of Śakti that the unpurified psyche misinterprets as threat.
