Adhyaya 8Harishchandra’s Trial: Truth, the Sale of Family, and Bondage to a Chandala

श्मशानाभ्यासयोगेन दैवस्य बलवत्तया ।

अन्यदेहेन दत्त्वा तु गुरवे गुरुदक्षिणाम् ॥

śmaśānābhyāsa-yogena daivasya balavattayā / anya-dehena dattvā tu gurave guru-dakṣiṇām

Oleh kebiasaan bergaul dengan tanah pembakaran mayat, dan oleh daya takdir yang mengatasi, dia menyerahkan kepada gurunya bayaran guru (guru-dakṣiṇā) melalui tubuh yang lain, yakni dalam penjelmaan yang berbeza.
