Adhyaya 15 — Karmic Retribution: Rebirths After Naraka and the King’s Compassion in Hell
चोरयित्वा पयश्चापि बलाका सम्प्रजायते ।
यस्तु चोरयते तैलं तैलपायी स जायते ॥
corayitvā payaś cāpi balākā samprajāyate | yas tu corayate tailaṃ tailapāyī sa jāyate ||
Sesiapa yang mencuri susu akan lahir sebagai bangau/heron (balākā). Dan sesiapa yang mencuri minyak akan lahir sebagai ‘tailapāyī’, iaitu peminum minyak.

Milk and oil are household essentials (nourishment, ritual use, cooking). The text stresses that stealing ‘life-supporting’ substances yields births marked by hunger and scavenging tendencies—an embodied reflection of prior acquisitiveness.
