Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 54 — Missile-Exchange and Tactical Redirection

ततो5भिविद्ध: समरावमर्दी प्रबोधित: सिंह इव प्रसुप्त: । गाण्डीवधन्चा ऋषभ: कुरूणा- मजिद्दवागैः कर्णमियाय जिष्णु:
tato ’bhividdhaḥ samarāvamardī prabodhitaḥ siṁha iva prasuptaḥ | gāṇḍīvadhanvā ṛṣabhaḥ kurūṇām ajiddhavāgaiḥ karṇam iyāya jiṣṇuḥ ||
Kemudian Arjuna—penghancur musuh di medan perang—tercedera oleh anak panah putera sais (Karna) lalu tersentak bangkit seperti singa yang dikejutkan dari tidur. Menggalas Gāṇḍīva, banteng di antara kaum Kuru, Jishnu yang tidak terkalahkan mara untuk berhadapan dengan Karṇa, melepaskan panah-panah yang meluru lurus ke pihak lawan.
