दत्तरक्षाप्रतिसरामन्वालम्भनशो भनाम्‌ । ऊर्मीतरज्जैर्जाह्विव्या: समानीतामुपह्दरम्‌,पिटारीके ऊपर उसकी रक्षाके लिये लता लपेट दी गयी थी और सिन्दूरका लेप लगा होनेसे उसकी बड़ी शोभा हो रही थी। गंगाकी तरंगोंके थपेड़े खाकर वह पिटारी तटके समीप आ लगी

Transliteration

dattarakṣāpratisarām anvālambhanaśobhanām | ūrmītarajjair jāhnavyāḥ samānītām upahradam ||

Translation

Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Peti itu diikat kemas dengan ikatan pelindung, dan tampak indah oleh pengikat serta hiasan pada penutupnya. Dihanyutkan oleh sungai Jāhnavī (Gangga), dipukul dan ditarik oleh ombak bagaikan tali, ia dibawa rapat ke tebing, ke sisi air.”
