अपत्यार्थे परं यत्नमकरोच्च विशेषत: । सा ददर्शाथ मज्जूषामुहामानां यदृच्छया,राधा पुत्रप्राप्तिके लिये विशेष यत्न करती रहती थी। दैवयोगसे उसीने गंगाजीके जलमें बहती हुई उस पिटारीको देखा

Transliteration

apatyārthe paraṁ yatnam akaroc ca viśeṣataḥ | sā dadarśātha majjūṣām ūhamānāṁ yadṛcchayā |

Translation

Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Demi memperoleh zuriat, dia berusaha dengan sungguh-sungguh, lebih daripada biasa. Lalu, oleh putaran takdir, dia terlihat secara kebetulan sebuah peti yang hanyut di atas air.”
