Kuntī–Sūrya-saṃvāda: Autonomy, Reputation, and the Promise of Karṇa
The verse underscores the reliability of truthful speech and the moral weight of a righteous declaration: what is spoken by a credible, dharma-aligned figure is shown to manifest as reality. It also points to the idea that higher perception can arise suddenly when conditions (grace, merit, or a destined moment) are present.
Mārkaṇḍeya reports to Yudhiṣṭhira that events unfolded exactly as Vibhīṣaṇa had foretold, and that “their” vision became at once capable of perceiving suprasensory realities—suggesting a sudden bestowal or awakening of extraordinary sight.
