पञ्चवर्णोत्पत्तिः — The Origin of the Five-Colored Fiery Being and Ritual-Disruptor Lineages

दशमासधूता गर्भ जायन्ते कुलपांसना: । कितने ही दीन मनुष्य पुत्रकी कामना रखकर देवताओंको पूजते और कठिन तपस्या करते हैं, तो भी उनके द्वारा गर्भमें स्थापित तथा दस मासतक माताके उदरमें पालित होकर जो पुत्र पैदा होते हैं वे कुलांगार निकल जाते हैं-

daśamāsadhūtā garbhā jāyante kulapāṃsanāḥ |

Pemburu itu berkata: “Walaupun dikandung dan dipelihara dalam rahim selama sepuluh bulan, ada anak yang lahir menjadi aib keturunan. Ramai orang papa, mendambakan anak lelaki, menyembah para dewa dan menempuh tapa yang berat; namun anak yang demikian dikandung dan dibesarkan dalam perut ibu selama sepuluh bulan itu juga akhirnya menjadi perosak keluarga.”

Merely obtaining a child through worship or austerity does not guarantee virtue; true worth is shown by conduct. A son can either uphold or disgrace a lineage, so ethical formation and righteous behavior matter more than the mere fact of birth.
