निकृतः स ततो क्रात्रा कस्मिंश्चित् कारणान्तरे । ऋष्यमूके मया सार्ध सुग्रीवो न््यवसच्चिरम्,किसी कारणान्तरसे वालीने अपने भाई सुग्रीवको घरसे निकाल दिया, तब बहुत दिनोंतक वे मेरे साथ ऋष्यमूक पर्वतपर रहे
nikṛtaḥ sa tato bhrātrā kasmiṃścit kāraṇāntare | ṛṣyamūke mayā sārdhaṃ sugrīvo nyavasac ciram ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Kemudian, dengan suatu alasan, dia (Sugrīva) dianiaya oleh saudaranya sendiri lalu diusir. Selepas itu Sugrīva tinggal bersama aku untuk waktu yang lama di Gunung Ṛṣyamūka.”
