Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Wahai yang berlengan perkasa, kefanaan makhluk di bumi, keabadian para dewa di syurga, dan seluruh perjalanan kerja alam—semuanya berasaskan dalam dirimu.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse asserts a theistic-cosmic vision: the differing conditions of existence—human mortality and divine immortality—along with the world’s operations are ultimately grounded in a single supreme support. Ethically, it implies humility and responsibility: power and order are not merely human constructs but participate in a larger dharmic structure.
In Vaiśampāyana’s narration, a revered figure is being praised or addressed as the foundation of cosmic functions. The statement elevates the addressee’s status, framing subsequent events within a worldview where worldly outcomes and the very structure of life and death depend upon that higher principle/person.
