वैशम्पायन उवाच
That the entire cosmos—its rulers, realms, directions, and luminaries—depends upon and is grounded in a single supreme support; this frames dharma as resting on an ultimate foundation rather than on mere human power.
Vaiśampāyana narrates a hymn-like declaration that magnifies the addressed figure as the cosmic basis, using a catalogue of universal elements (worlds, stars, directions, sky, moon, sun) to express total dependence and reverence.
