Kirmīra-rākṣasa-saṃgamaḥ (Encounter and Slaying of Kirmīra) | किर्मीरेण सह भीमसेनसमागमः

राजर्षीणां पुण्यकृतामाहवेष्वनिवर्तिनाम्‌ । सर्वधर्मोपपन्नानां त्वं गति: पुरुषर्षभ । त्वं प्रभुस्त्वं विभुश्न त्वं भूतात्मा त्वं विचेष्टसे,पुरुषोत्तम! युद्धमें कभी पीठ न दिखानेवाले, सब धर्मोसे सम्पन्न पुण्यात्मा राजर्षियोंके आप ही आश्रय हैं। आप ही प्रभु (सबके स्वामी), आप ही विभु [सर्वव्यापी) और आप ही सम्पूर्ण भूतोंके आत्मा हैं। आप ही विविध प्राणियोंके रूपमें नाना प्रकारकी चेष्टाएँ कर रहे हैं

rājarṣīṇāṁ puṇyakṛtām āhaveṣv anivartinām | sarvadharmopapannānāṁ tvaṁ gatiḥ puruṣarṣabha | tvaṁ prabhus tvaṁ vibhuś ca tvaṁ bhūtātmā tvaṁ viceṣṭase, puruṣottama |

Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Wahai lembu jantan di antara manusia, engkaulah tempat berlindung dan tujuan terakhir para raja-resi—para pembuat kebajikan yang tidak pernah berpaling dalam pertempuran dan yang lengkap dengan segala dharma. Engkaulah satu-satunya Tuhan, engkaulah Yang Maha Meliputi, dan engkaulah Atman batin bagi semua makhluk; sebagai Purusha Tertinggi, engkaulah yang bergerak dan bertindak dalam pelbagai cara melalui rupa kehidupan yang beraneka.”

Educational Q&A

The verse presents the addressee as the ultimate refuge of righteous warrior-kings and as the immanent Lord: the one who pervades all, dwells as the Self in all beings, and yet directs diverse activity through living forms.
