Chapter 49: Sañjaya’s Enumeration of the Pāṇḍava Coalition (पाण्डवसैन्यसमागम-वर्णनम्)

संजय उवाच दृष्टवानस्मि राजेन्द्र कुन्तीपुत्रान महारथान्‌ | मत्स्यराजगृहावासनिरोधेनावकर्शितान्‌,संजयने कहा--राजेन्द्र! मैंने महारथी कुन्तीपुत्रोंका दर्शन किया है। वे अज्ञातवासके समय मत्स्यनरेश विराटके घरमें छिपकर रहनेके कारण अत्यन्त दुबले हो गये हैं

sañjaya uvāca dṛṣṭavān asmi rājendra kuntīputrān mahārathān | matsyarājagṛhāvāsanidhānena avakarśitān |

Sañjaya berkata: “Wahai raja, aku telah melihat para maharathi, putera-putera Kuntī. Kerana terpaksa bersembunyi dan tinggal di istana Raja Matsya, Virāṭa, sepanjang tempoh penyamaran mereka, mereka telah sangat susut dan kurus kering.”
