Duryodhana’s Post-Duel Lament and Instructions (भग्नसक्थस्य विलापः)
Success in a dharmic struggle is not complete merely with victory; it must be safeguarded through wise action afterward. The verse stresses responsibility: preserve the achieved outcome so it is not undone by renewed conflict, poor governance, or neglect.
Vaiśampāyana reports a statement addressed to Kṛṣṇa (Acyuta): since Duryodhana has been killed and the efforts have succeeded, Kṛṣṇa is urged to take steps so that the result of the war does not get ruined again—implying the need to secure peace, order, and the settlement that follows victory.
