Shloka 133

नाभ्यपद्यन्त समरे काज्चिच्चेष्टां महारथा: । महाराज! युद्धमें अत्यन्त थके हुए महारथी योद्धा निद्रासे अंधे हो रहे थे; अतः संग्राममें कोई चेष्टा नहीं कर पाते थे

nābhyapadyanta samare kāścid ceṣṭāṃ mahārathāḥ |

Sañjaya berkata: Wahai Maharaja, di medan perang para maharatha tidak mampu melakukan sebarang usaha pun. Terlalu letih oleh pertempuran yang berpanjangan, dan dikuasai rasa mengantuk seakan-akan dibutakan, maka mereka tidak berdaya untuk bertindak dalam gelanggang. Adegan ini menegaskan suatu kebenaran moral tentang perang: melampaui strategi dan keberanian, batas manusia—keletihan, kekeliruan, dan tumpulnya pertimbangan—boleh menggantungkan bahkan yang terperkasa daripada tindakan yang bertujuan.
