Householder Duties and Daily Offerings

Dharma in household life includes orderly, mindful ritual action: offerings (bali) are to be made in their proper directions to the appropriate deities, expressing reverence and aligning one’s domestic space with cosmic order.
Vāyu instructs Mādhava (Kṛṣṇa) on the correct directional placement of bali offerings within a dwelling-site: Soma to the north, Prajāpati to the center, Dhanvantari to the northeast, and Indra to the east—part of a larger sequence of prescribed offerings.
