Duḥṣantasya Vana-praveśaḥ

King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt

मीनभावमनुप्राप्ता बभूव यमुनाचरी । श्येनपादपरि भ्रष्ट तद्‌ वीर्यमथ वासवम्‌

mīna-bhāvam anuprāptā babhūva yamunā-carī | śyena-pāda-pari-bhraṣṭaṃ tad vīryam atha vāsavam |

Vaiśampāyana berkata: Apsara yang mendiami Yamunā, kerana sumpahan, telah mencapai keadaan sebagai ikan. Pada waktu itu, benih yang berkuasa—yang terlepas dari cakar helang—jatuh ke dalam perairan Yamunā. Adrikā dalam rupa ikan segera datang lalu menelan potensi yang jatuh itu. Apabila bulan kesepuluh tiba, para nelayan menangkap ikan itu dengan jala; mereka membelah perutnya dan mengeluarkan seorang anak perempuan dan seorang anak lelaki.
