Āstīka-stuti at Janamejaya’s Sacrifice (आस्तीकस्तुतिः / यज्ञप्रशंसा)
गच्छाम्यहं तं त्वरित: सद्य: कर्तुमपज्वरम् । मयाभिपन्नं तं चापि न सर्पो धर्षयिष्यति,काश्यपने कहा--ब्रह्मन! मैं वहाँ जाता हूँ जहाँ कुरुकुलके श्रेष्ठ राजा परीक्षित् रहते हैं। सुना है कि आज ही तक्षक नाग उन्हें डँसेगा। अतः मैं तत्काल ही उन्हें नीरोग करनेके लिये जल्दी-जल्दी वहाँ जा रहा हूँ। मेरे द्वारा सुरक्षित नरेशको वह सर्प नष्ट नहीं कर सकेगा
gacchāmy ahaṃ taṃ tvaritaḥ sadyaḥ kartum apajvaram | mayābhipannaṃ taṃ cāpi na sarpo dharṣayiṣyati ||
Kaśyapa berkata: “Aku akan pergi kepadanya serta-merta, dengan segera, untuk menghapuskan demam racun itu pada saat ini juga. Dan apabila dia berada di bawah perlindunganku, tiada seekor ular pun akan mampu menewaskannya.”
