Droṇa’s Ācārya-Dakṣiṇā: Capture of Drupada and Division of Pāñcāla (द्रोण-आचार्यदक्षिणा)

स्वयं प्रक्षिपते भक्ष्यं बहु भीमस्य पापकृत्‌ प्रतीच्छितं सम भीमेन त॑ं वै दोषमजानता

vaiśampāyana uvāca | svayaṃ prakṣipate bhakṣyaṃ bahu bhīmasya pāpakṛt pratīcchitaṃ sama bhīmena taṃ vai doṣam ajānatā |

Vaiśampāyana berkata: Si pendosa itu sendiri terus menyuakan makanan yang banyak kepada Bhīma. Bhīma, tidak mengetahui kecelaan—bahaya yang tersembunyi—dalam makanan itu, menerimanya sebagaimana ditawarkan dan memakannya habis. Maka Duryodhana, yang hatinya tajam seperti belati walau tutur katanya manis, berlagak di luar seperti saudara dan sahabat yang menginginkan kebaikan—namun di dalam bersorak, menyangka tipu dayanya telah berjaya.
