अथ तद् वनमाजग्मु: कदाचिद् भरतर्षभ । पृथ्वाद्या वसव: सर्वे देवा देवर्षिसेवितम्,भरतश्रेष्ठी) एक दिन उस देवर्षिसेवित वनमें पृथु आदि वसु तथा सम्पूर्ण देवता पधारे
atha tad vanam ājagmuḥ kadācid bharatarṣabha | pṛthv-ādyā vasavaḥ sarve devā devarṣi-sevitam ||
Wahai lembu jantan kaum Bharata, pada suatu ketika semua dewa—bersama para Vasu bermula dengan Pṛthu—telah datang ke hutan itu, tempat yang sering diziarahi dan dimuliakan oleh para resi ilahi.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the sanctity of a place made holy by the presence of devarṣis; in the Mahābhārata, such settings signal that events unfolding there are under the gaze of dharma and cosmic order.
Vaiśampāyana describes a moment when the gods, along with the Vasus (named as beginning with Pṛthu), arrive at a forest that is regularly visited by divine seers, preparing the stage for subsequent developments.
