Sembah sujud kepada-Mu—sekali, dua kali, tiga kali, empat kali, lima kali—berulang-ulang. Sembah sujud kepada-Mu sepuluh kali, bahkan seribu kali. Kepada-Mu sahaja, wahai Pati, Tuhan segala makhluk, aku persembahkan tunduk hormat tanpa berkesudahan.
Suta Goswami (narrating a Shaiva stuti within the Linga Purana’s discourse)
It emphasizes repeated namaskāra as a core limb of Linga-pūjā—multiplying salutations to intensify bhakti and surrender to Pati, making worship continuous rather than occasional.
By directing limitless, escalating salutations to Him, the verse implies Shiva’s supremacy as Pati—worthy of boundless reverence—before whom the pashu’s ego and pasha-based identity are meant to dissolve.
Japa-like repetition of namo namaḥ (repeated salutations), used as a devotional discipline aligned with Shaiva practice to cultivate humility, steadiness of mind, and surrender in worship.
