Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It situates Linga-worship within a wider Śaiva cosmos: Śiva (Pati) is served by ordered hosts of celestial beings, and devotion to the Liṅga aligns the pashu (soul) with that divine order rather than with pasha (bondage).
By listing beings in Śiva’s retinue, the verse implies Śiva-tattva as sovereign governance—Pati who organizes and empowers diverse cosmic functions and beings, while remaining the presiding Lord beyond them.
No specific rite is prescribed in this line; it supports the contemplative framework used in Śaiva practice—smaraṇa (recollection) and nāma-saṅgraha (sacred enumeration) that steadies the mind for Liṅga-pūjā and Pāśupata-oriented discipline.
