तपश्चरणमाख्यातं देवदेवस्य धीमतः / प्रादुर्भावो महेशस्य ललाटात् कथितस्ततः
tapaścaraṇamākhyātaṃ devadevasya dhīmataḥ / prādurbhāvo maheśasya lalāṭāt kathitastataḥ
Demikianlah telah dihuraikan amalan tapa (pertapaan) oleh Devadeva yang bijaksana, Tuhan segala dewa; dan sesudah itu diceritakan pula penampakan Maheśa yang terbit dari dahi-Nya.
