यदि स्यात् सूतके सूतिर्मरणे वा मृतिर्भवेत् / शेषेणैव भवेच्छुद्धिरहः शेषे त्रिरात्रकम्
yadi syāt sūtake sūtirmaraṇe vā mṛtirbhavet / śeṣeṇaiva bhavecchuddhirahaḥ śeṣe trirātrakam
Jika dalam tempoh sūtaka (ketidak-sucian kerana kelahiran) berlaku kelahiran lagi, atau dalam tempoh ketidak-sucian kerana kematian berlaku kematian lagi, maka kesucian dicapai dengan mengira hanya baki tempoh yang sedang berjalan. Namun jika yang tinggal hanyalah sebahagian daripada satu hari, maka tempoh penyucian hendaklah dihitung sebagai tiga malam.
