FAQs

It frames liberation as reaching an irreversible state beyond saṃsāra—attained by those who take refuge in the Supreme Lord (Janārdana), implying the highest goal is freedom from return rather than temporary heavenly merit.

The verse emphasizes prapatti (total surrender) as a direct liberating discipline; within the Kurma Purana’s broader yoga-shāstra context, surrender functions as the inner orientation that perfects devotion and steadies the mind toward mokṣa.

While naming Viṣṇu explicitly, the Kurma Purana’s synthetic theology treats the Supreme as accessible through converging paths (yoga, jñāna, bhakti); this verse highlights the Vaiṣṇava expression—refuge in Janārdana—as a mokṣa-giving doorway within that unified framework.
