Akrūra’s Journey to Vraja and His Devotional Vision of Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma
Thus end the purports of the humble servants of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda to the Tenth Canto, Thirty eighth Chapter, of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, entitled “Akrūra’s Arrival in Vṛndāvana.”
This verse shows that sincere reception—sweet, truthful speech and respectful inquiry—uplifts a visitor and removes weariness, highlighting devotional hospitality as a virtue in Vraja.
As the leader of Vraja, Nanda welcomed the arriving guest properly; his warm words and attentive questions honored Akrūra and set a respectful tone for the unfolding Krishna–Mathurā journey narrative.
Speak with honesty that is also considerate; when receiving others, combine respectful questions with warmth—this builds trust and eases others’ stress, just as Akrūra’s fatigue was relieved.
