Akrūra’s Journey to Vraja and His Devotional Vision of Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma
न मय्युपैष्यत्यरिबुद्धिमच्युत: कंसस्य दूत: प्रहितोऽपि विश्वदृक् । योऽन्तर्बहिश्चेतस एतदीहितं क्षेत्रज्ञ ईक्षत्यमलेन चक्षुषा ॥ १८ ॥
na mayy upaiṣyaty ari-buddhim acyutaḥ kaṁsasya dūtaḥ prahito ’pi viśva-dṛk yo ’ntar bahiś cetasa etad īhitaṁ kṣetra-jña īkṣaty amalena cakṣuṣā
Tuhan Yang Tidak Pernah Gagal tidak akan menganggapku musuh, walaupun Kaṁsa mengutusku sebagai pesuruhnya. Sesungguhnya Tuhan Yang Maha Mengetahui ialah kṣetrajña sejati, Sang Penyaksi dalam tubuh ini; dengan penglihatan-Nya yang murni Dia menyaksikan segala niat dan usaha hati, luar dan dalam.
Being omniscient, Lord Kṛṣṇa knew that Akrūra was only externally a friend of Kaṁsa. Internally he was an eternal devotee of Lord Kṛṣṇa.
This verse states that Kṛṣṇa is viśva-dṛk, the all-seeing Kṣetrajña (Supersoul), who perceives the mind’s intentions—inside and outside—through spotless divine vision.
Akrūra recognizes that Kṛṣṇa sees beyond external roles like “messenger of Kaṁsa” and understands inner motives; therefore Kṛṣṇa will not treat him with hostility.
Focus on purifying intention—serve sincerely, avoid duplicity, and cultivate prayerful honesty—because spiritual progress depends not only on actions but on the heart behind them.
