Related Themes: Agni Purana 278 (Rogacikitsā; rājayakṣmā pathya)
Ayurvedic pathya (dietary prescription) for rājayakṣmā: recommending light, nourishing grains/legumes (mudga, barley, wheat, aged grain) and jāṅgala meat-broth as suitable food.
It shows the Agni Purana functioning as a compendium that includes practical Ayurvedic therapeutics—specific disease-wise dietary guidance—alongside its ritual, cosmological, and dharma materials.
By preserving the body through prescribed wholesome diet (pathya) during illness, one sustains dharma-practice (daily duties, japa, worship); caring for health is treated as supportive to righteous living rather than mere indulgence.
