FAQs

It prescribes calendrically timed Vaiṣṇava worship: perform the Agastya-linked Cāturmāsya observance when Agastya rises, and conduct a five-day grand celebration at Viṣṇu’s Śayanotthāpana (Utthāna).

It shows the text functioning as a practical ritual manual by integrating vrata/utsava procedure with astronomical timing (Agastya’s rising), illustrating how Purāṇas encode liturgy, calendar science, and public festival organization.

Observing Cāturmāsya and celebrating Viṣṇu’s awakening are framed as meritorious acts of devotion that align personal conduct with sacred cosmic rhythms, supporting purification and religious merit through disciplined worship and communal festival.
