Related Themes: Agni Purana 92 (Namasmaraṇa / parivāra-nāma lists)
It supplies a precise set of proper names to be recited as part of ritual remembrance (nāmāvali/nāma-saṅgraha), supporting correct invocation and completeness in pūjā.
By preserving structured catalogues of names used in worship—functioning like liturgical indices—this chapter exemplifies the Agni Purana’s compendium style, where ritual practice is documented alongside many other disciplines.
Accurate recitation of sanctioned names is treated as a merit-producing act (puṇya) that stabilizes concentration and is believed to remove obstacles by completing the devotional offering through sound and remembrance.
