Related Themes: Agni Purana 92.23-92.26 (akṣara-varga framework; material assignments)
It teaches a lexicographic/phonetic method: technical words are organized by Sanskrit letter-groups (vargas), helping readers locate and classify specialized terms such as kapāla (ritual vessel/skull-bowl) and loha (metal).
By cataloging diverse technical vocabulary through an alphabetical-varga scheme, the text functions like a reference manual—indexing terms that can belong to ritual practice, material culture (metals), and specialized usages.
Its primary intent is practical transmission of knowledge; indirectly, preserving correct terminology supports accurate ritual and technical practice, which traditional dharma views as essential for obtaining intended religious merit (phala).
