FAQs

It prescribes the procedure for transmitting an authoritative ritual instruction: the teacher must first scrutinize (suparīkṣya), then audibly deliver the directive (saṁśrāvayet), and the disciple must respond with formal salutation and prostration to Maheśvara.

Beyond theology, it codifies practical ritual pedagogy—how instructions are authorized, communicated, and ritually received—showing the Agni Purana’s coverage of conduct, initiation norms, and worship protocol alongside its many other disciplines.

Careful authorization of instruction and humble prostration cultivate śuddhi (ritual purity), discipline, and devotion; honoring Maheśvara and maintaining proper transmission is treated as meritorious and protective against ritual error.
