Śānti-Śodhana-Kathana (Instruction on the Purification of Śānti) — Agni Purāṇa, Adhyāya 87

एकं पाशवियोगार्थमिति ग, घ, चिह्नितपुस्तकपाठः ॐ ह्य् ऐमिति क, ङ, चिह्नितपुस्तकपाठः ॐ ओमिति ग, चिह्नितपुस्तकपाठः ॐ यैमिति घ, चिह्नितपुस्तकपाठः विसृजेदीश्वरन्देवं रौद्रात्मानं नियोजयेत् ईषच्चन्द्रमिवात्मानं विधिनाअत्मनि योजयेत्

ekaṃ pāśaviyogārthamiti ga, gha, cihnitapustakapāṭhaḥ oṃ hy aimiti ka, ṅa, cihnitapustakapāṭhaḥ oṃ omiti ga, cihnitapustakapāṭhaḥ oṃ yaimiti gha, cihnitapustakapāṭhaḥ visṛjedīśvarandevaṃ raudrātmānaṃ niyojayet īṣaccandramivātmānaṃ vidhināatmani yojayet

“Satu (suku kata/rumus) adalah untuk memutuskan pāśa (ikatan)”—demikian dibaca oleh beberapa naskhah bertanda; yang lain membaca “Oṃ hy aiṃ”, ada yang membaca “Oṃ”, dan ada yang membaca “Oṃ yaiṃ”. Setelah demikian dibaca, hendaklah melepaskan (visṛje) Dewa Yang Berdaulat, lalu mengarahkan upacara kepada hakikat Rudra. Menurut tatacara, hendaklah menyatukan diri ke dalam diri, bagaikan bulan yang samar sedang terbit.
