Chapter 83 — निर्वाणदीक्षाकथनम्
Description of the Nirvāṇa Initiation
Lord Agni (in dialogue, instructing the sage Vasiṣṭha)

Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Related Themes: Agni Purana 83 (Mantra-śānti-kalpa context)
It prescribes a śānti-prayoga: perform Viṣṇu-smaraṇa (Acyuta) with a numerically defined recitationsher: words counted to the bhānu-number (twelve) and a structured contemplation of bhuvanas (world-levels) as ten, seven, and one, focusing the mind on a single viṣaya.
It blends ritual practice with sacred numerology and cosmological framing (counts of words, worlds, and a single-pointed object), showing how the Agni Purana systematizes practical rites (śānti) using cosmology and disciplined meditation.
Remembering Acyuta with regulated recitation and single-pointed attention is presented as a means to calm disturbances and restore auspiciousness, aligning the practitioner’s mind with a stabilizing divine principle during śānti.
