FAQs

It formalizes a prāyaścitta-style confession used to acknowledge faults in vidhis (prescribed rites): errors done under strain, omissions/negligence, and even concealed acts—preparing the ground for expiation and rectification.

Alongside cosmology and devotion, the Agni Purana preserves practical ritual jurisprudence—how to address procedural defects and human error within religious observances—showing its coverage of dharma, rites, and corrective methods.

By openly submitting all flawed, omitted, and hidden actions to the Time-embodied Lord, the practitioner seeks karmic cleansing and restoration of ritual integrity, reducing the demerit caused by imperfect performance.
