FAQs

It gives tithi-based scheduling: the same vrata/rite is to be performed on Caturdaśī and Aṣṭamī during Āṣāḍha, Śrāvaṇa, and Bhādrapada, in both śukla and kṛṣṇa pakṣas.

It exemplifies the text’s practical calendrical and ritual manual aspect—codifying when rites should be done across months and fortnights, alongside its many other domains (law, polity, medicine, architecture, poetics).

By performing the prescribed observance on the correct lunar days and seasons, the practitioner aligns worship with dharma and gains the intended purificatory and merit-bearing results of the vrata.
