Agnisthāpana-vidhi (Procedure for Establishing the Sacred Fire) and Protective Īśāna-kalpa Homa Sequences

उदङ्मुखः कुण्डमीक्षेत् प्रओक्षणं ताडनंकुशैः विदध्यादस्त्रमन्त्रेण वर्मणाभ्युक्षणं मतं

udaṅmukhaḥ kuṇḍamīkṣet praokṣaṇaṃ tāḍanaṃkuśaiḥ vidadhyādastramantreṇa varmaṇābhyukṣaṇaṃ mataṃ

Dengan menghadap ke utara, hendaklah ia menatap dan memeriksa kuṇḍa (lubang api). Hendaklah dilakukan percikan penyucian (prokṣaṇa) dan ketukan/ketukan ringan dengan rumput kuśa; dan dengan Astra-mantra hendaklah dilaksanakan percikan perlindungan (abhyukṣaṇa) sebagai perisai (varma)—demikianlah tatacara yang diterima.
