FAQs

It gives a practical karṇavedhana-saṃskāra instruction: decorate the surroundings (trees with garlands and cloth) and perform ear-piercing using a golden needle.

Beyond mythology, the Agni Purana catalogs applied dharma—here, a concrete domestic/ritual protocol for a life-cycle rite (saṃskāra), showing its coverage of social-religious practice.

As a saṃskāra, karṇavedhana is treated as an auspicious purification and social-religious consecration; performing it with sanctified decor and pure instruments is meant to enhance auspiciousness and merit while minimizing ritual impurity.
