Kumbhādhivāsa-vidhi: Rite of Installing/Consecrating the Ritual Jar

इत्य् आदिमहापुराणे आग्नेये दिक्पतियागो नाम षट्पञ्चाशत्तमोध्यायः अथ सप्तपञ्चाशोध्यायः कुम्भाधिवासविधिः भगवानुवाच भूमेः परिग्रहं कुर्यात् क्षिपेद्ब्रीहींश् च सर्षपान् नारसिंहेन रक्षोघ्नान् प्रोक्षोघ्नान् प्रोक्षयेत् पञ्चगव्यतः

ity ādimahāpurāṇe āgneye dikpatiyāgo nāma ṣaṭpañcāśattamodhyāyaḥ atha saptapañcāśodhyāyaḥ kumbhādhivāsavidhiḥ bhagavānuvāca bhūmeḥ parigrahaṃ kuryāt kṣipedbrīhīṃś ca sarṣapān nārasiṃhena rakṣoghnān prokṣoghnān prokṣayet pañcagavyataḥ

Demikianlah dalam Agni Purāṇa berakhir bab kelima puluh enam yang bernama “Dikpati-yāga: Pemujaan para Penguasa Arah”. Kini bermula bab kelima puluh tujuh, “Kumbhādhivāsa-vidhi: Tata cara pemasangan/penyucian balang suci (kalaśa)”. Bhagavān bersabda: “Hendaklah tanah itu diambil alih secara ritual (dikuduskan); kemudian taburkan butir beras dan biji sawi. Dengan Nārasiṃha (mantra/ritus) lakukan percikan pelindung yang memusnahkan kuasa jahat; dan percikkan pañcagavya untuk penyucian (tapak dan peralatan).”
